How to get here
Camping 3 Gs sits in the village of Goght in Armenia's Kotayk region, tucked between two of the country's most-visited landmarks. From central Yerevan it's an easy 35β40 km drive of roughly 45 minutes to an hour: head east out of the city toward Abovyan, then follow the M4 and H3 highways toward Garni and Geghard.
If you're already on the famous GarniβGeghard road, you'll find us along the Geghard Monastery Highway (H3). From Garni village it's about a 10-minute drive uphill toward Geghard; the camp is roughly 4 km before the monastery. Turn off the highway at the 3rd impasse and continue to house 4 β look for the signs at the campground entrance.
Full address: Geghard Monastery Highway (H3), 3rd impasse, house 4, 2218, Goght, Kotayk region, Armenia. If you're arriving by taxi or marshrutka, ask the driver for the GarniβGeghard road through Goght, and call ahead on +374 94 496094 (WhatsApp/Viber) if you need help finding the turn-off.
Stay in a converted vintage vehicle
The most memorable way to spend the night at Camping 3 Gs is inside one of our converted vintage vehicles β old buses and trucks lovingly restored and turned into snug, characterful sleeping quarters. Each unit keeps its original retro shell on the outside while the inside is fitted out as a cozy cabin, with proper beds, bedding, windows for light and air, and just enough room to settle in after a day of exploring.
Most units comfortably sleep two to four people, making them ideal for couples, friends, and small families who want something more interesting than a standard tent or hotel room. You get the comfort of a solid roof over your head with all the romance of the outdoors right at your door β and a photo backdrop you won't find anywhere else. Surrounded by the green hills above Garni Gorge, these vintage vehicle stays are exactly the kind of unusual, story-worthy night that turns a trip into a memory.
Things to do nearby
Camping 3 Gs is named after the three sights that surround it β Garni, Geghard, and Goght β so you're staying right in the heart of one of Armenia's richest day-trip areas. From the campground you can reach:
- Garni Temple (~5 km, about 10 minutes by car) β Armenia's only standing Greco-Roman colonnaded temple, dramatically perched on a cliff edge with sweeping valley views.
- Geghard Monastery (~4 km, about 10 minutes by car) β a UNESCO World Heritage medieval monastery partly carved straight into the surrounding rock, famous for its acoustics and atmosphere.
- Garni Gorge and the Symphony of Stones (~6 km, about 15 minutes) β a spectacular natural wall of towering hexagonal basalt columns formed by ancient lava flows, reached by a short walk down into the gorge below Garni.
All three sights can easily be combined into a single relaxed day, and basing yourself at the camp means you can visit early or late to beat the tour-bus crowds. Hiking, river walks, and local village life round out the experience.
Booking and seasonal practicalities
Camping 3 Gs is open from April 1 to November 1. To reserve, call or message +374 94 496094 on WhatsApp or Viber β it's best to book ahead in summer and on weekends, when the vintage-vehicle units and pool area fill up quickly.
What's included:
- A tent pitch gives you a level spot to camp, plus shared access to all amenities: hot and cold showers, restrooms, a dish-washing area, the outdoor pool, BBQ grills, and tables and benches. You can bring your own tent or rent one on site.
- An RV / motorhome spot gives you a place to park with the same shared facilities.
- A vintage-vehicle rental comes ready with beds and bedding inside the converted unit, so you just bring yourself β plus the same access to showers, the pool, BBQ grills, and common areas.
What to bring: Spring and autumn nights in the Kotayk highlands can get cool, so pack warm layers and a good sleeping bag if you're tent camping. Bring sun protection, swimwear for the pool, sturdy shoes for the gorge walks, and any food you'd like to grill β the BBQ areas, tables, and benches are ready to use. Early April and late October stays are quieter and cooler, while midsummer is warm and ideal for the pool.
